    From July 2021, Healthwatch Ealing partnered with Ealing Council to identify how adult residents living with disabilities and their unpaid family carers have been affected by the pandemic, including their experiences of the Health and Social Care system.

    Historically, Housebound individuals have rarely been engaged with by statutory and community organisations and, therefore, their experiences and opinions of the care that they receive are seldom heard. As a result of this lack of engagement and representation, there is a national concern that not enough is known about the quality of home care service delivery. To address these concerns at a local level, Healthwatch Ealing sought to hear from Ealing residents who are housebound.

    From October 2021, Healthwatch Ealing’s outreach and engagement work was focused on hearing from BAME residents to understand their experience of accessing health and social care services during the pandemic and their opinions on how any issues or challenges faced could be addressed in collaboration with health and social care and the local voluntary sector organisations.

    In June 2017, Healthwatch Ealing (HWE) carried out a survey on primary care GP access for patients in the borough. Our objective was to gain feedback from 1,500 - 2,000 local patients about primary care GP access across Ealing’s seven GP Network Groups. We then aimed to analyse the data and summarise the views expressed by patients in a robust report for Ealing CCG. This would enable them to shape, reform, and improve access to GPs in Ealing in accordance with the needs and wishes expressed by local people.
