    Ealing Council, local NHS services and voluntary organisations are working together to develop a Carers Strategy. To help us do this we would like to hear your views about support available for Carers. A Carer is anyone who cares unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support. A joint Carers strategy was developed a few years ago. This set out how we wanted to improve support for Carers.

    In September 2022, Healthwatch Ealing launched a new
    project looking at mental health among staff and residents in
    care homes.

    By talking directly to stakeholders Healthwatch hoped to gain
    an understanding of the dynamics at play in the environment.
    Our intention was to understand the pressures of care home
    living and working, identify best practice and to enlist the aid
    of our partners to improve conditions for all involved.

    The forensic inpatient wards at West London NHS Trust have retained their 'Outstanding' overall rating following an inspection from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
    On Friday May 19th 2023, the CQC published its report on a recent inspection of the forensic inpatient/ secure wards at West London NHS Trust. The visit happened in February this year and focused on the women's forensic service at the Orchard Unit located in Southall.

    Volunteers from the Diabetes UK’s South East Coast and London Team are running an online Peer Support group for people living with type 2 diabetes. The Online Peer Support Programme is about bringing people with diabetes together to share experiences of living with the condition and to get practical tips from others about how to live well.
