Annual Report 2023-24

Our annual report of 2023-24 summarises our patient experience findings, enter and view findings and our plans for the upcoming year 2024-25.

Highlights from 2023-24

  • 5.580 people shared their experiences of health and social care services with
    us, helping to raise awareness of issues and improve care.
  • 212 people came to us for clear advice and information about topics such as
    mental health and the cost of living crisis
  • We published 17 reports
    about the improvements people would like to see to health and social care services.
  • We presented 9 Enter & View Reports
    which recommended improvements to care homes and to the new Community Diagnostic Centre at Ealing Hospital. 
  • We’re lucky to have 39 outstanding volunteers
  • We’re funded by our local authority. In 2022-23 we received: £120,000. 
  • We also currently employ 4 staff who help us carry out this work.

  • We talked to 5,016 people
  • We conducted 226 GP visits
  • We published 4 health experience reports

Enter and View Findings

  • We conducted 9 Enter and Views activities during the 23-24 financial year.
  • We focused our attention towards care homes and nursing homes Reports produced, identified areas of improvements and provided recommendations for how to achieve those goals.
    • There were no issues or recommendations escalated by our Healthwatch to Healthwatch England Committee; so no resulting special reviews or investigations.

Our priorities for next year

  • Help to identify and tackle health inequalities.
  • Improve Mental Health Hostel standards across the borough. 
  • Raise awareness of and improve access for those experiencing homelessness.
